Our faculty and instructors are experienced professionals that come from educational institutions, private sector consultancies, and systems integrator companies that support many Federal, state and local agencies in defining and managing their EA Programs or from Governmental Agencies’ EA Programs. Our faculty are experienced lead architects and many have authored books and/or articles on EA. The FEAC Institute started in 2002 and is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia but provides classes most anywhere in the United States (or elsewhere upon request). Organizations often spend several million dollars on developing Enterprise Architectures without the assistance and expertise of fully qualified, trained staff able to do both the right things and things right the first time. This gap in expertise greatly increases the risks of failure of the EA Programs being established for their and/or their clients enterprises. Tool vendors and consultacy firms have validated this observation. FEAC™ believes the keys to EA success reside in understanding and leveraging the culture of the organization, integrating EA into the management and budgeting processes, developing a realistic Statement of Work (SOW) or EA Program Plan, justifying and selling it internally, implementing and integrating program elements, and measuring progress and EA attributable business/mission outcomes or results. In government, it also involves tying EA to the Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC), security and privacy, geospatial and records management as well as mapping to Reference Models.
The FEAC™ Institute understands all of these various needs, whether private or public sector, and will help you and your organization obtain the skills needed to conceptualize, plan, implement, integrate, communicate and, ultimately succeed in your Enterprise Architecture career, program application or community of practice. We also offer custom training programs for different levels or needs of your educational process, including half day executive overviews, three and five day training classes, workshops and a variety of special related EA Classes (Event Analysis, Data Architecture, Segment Architecture, Modeling and Business Analysis)
Instructional Philosophy - Our philosophies and beliefs are characterized as follows:
- Project-based Approach — We train our students to be professional practitioners through actually doing a “real” project-based EA under our faculties’ expert guidance.
- Definitive — Students secure immediately useful knowledge of what's needed to plan, sell, deliver, and sustain an actionable EA program for business - mission results.
- Top Quality — Every student reaches for mastery of the discipline, not just passing minimal standards while boosting their know-how and gaining knowledge of useable, tested best-practices from industry and government.
- Up-To-The-Minute — Every class delves into emerging concepts, the latest policies, hottest issues and EA insights from our thought leading faculty and instructors, many of whom are published experts.
- World-Class Faculty — You learn from senior and chief architect practitioners, EA experts from government, industry, and academia.
- Relevant — Every student gains practical EA expertise during, and continuing after the program though recertification and association with FEAC. Students ask and get answers to difficult and perplexing questions that often, are immediately applicable to their work back on their jobs.
- Hands-On — Through crafting project-based EA solutions for real problems, in the safety of the Institute's interactive and mentored learning environment, students develop actual take-away artifacts and products that they can continue to build, evolve and mature, after they are certified and return to work.
- Versatile — Whether they are from the information technology or program management staffs, whether from the private or public (defense or civilian) sectors, all students reap benefits from this program.
- Career Utility — You earn coveted and highly sought after credentials, while networking with fellow professionals and obtaining PDUs and CEUs or graduate degree credits..
