Leadership

Joe Frontiera and Dan Leidl recently authored an article for the Washington Post’s “On Leadership” section regarding leadership and corporate social responsibility. Frontiera happened upon the story of Chapman’s Ice Cream, Canada’s largest independent ice cream manufacturer. Chapman’s largest plant, which employed close to 350 people, had the potential to devastate the 1,200-person town of Markdale, Ontario when it was destroyed in an early morning fire in September of last year. Husband and wife owners, Penny and David Chapman, made the extraordinary decision to rebuild and continue paying all of their employees through the process.
