Josh Bersin

Ask The Expert

Josh is the Principal and Founder of Bersin & Associates, a leading industry research and advisory consulting firm in e-learning technology and implementation. Bersin & Associates focuses on “What Works™” in corporate e-learning, and has specializations in strategy, blended learning, content development, LMS and infrastructure, and measurement and analytics.

Josh’s background includes 2 years as Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at DigitalThink, Vice President of Marketing, Products, and Sales at Arista Knowledge Systems, Director of Product Management at Sybase, and 10 years in sales and marketing at IBM. At Bersin & Associates, Josh and his team are totally focused on identifying best practices, trends, and new technologies in corporate e-learning. Josh has a BS from Cornell University, an MS from Stanford, and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.

Josh is the author of “The Blended Learning Book: Best Practices, Proven Methodologies, and Lessons Learned” – a comprehensive review of the principles and winning strategies for blended learning in corporate training applications.

Bill Bruck, Ph.D.

Bill Bruck is the lead solutions architect and co-founder of Q2Learning, LLC, developer of the xPERT eCampus, the leading collaboration platform for learning and knowledge sharing and winner of the 2004 Brandon Hall gold Excellence in Learning award for innovative technology.

Bill designed the eCampus technology and end-to-end methodology that has been used in hundreds of communities of practice and blended learning programs for Fortune 500 corporations. He serves as a luminary for media and industry relations, and provides keynotes internationally on collaboration technologies and their impact on organizations.

Bill comes from academia, where he was a tenured full professor of psychology and director of institutional research at Marymount University. During that time, he designed a system for assessing institutional effectiveness that was cited as an exemplar during re-accreditation by the Southeastern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS).

Bill has written over a dozen books on the effective use of technology, which have been translated into five languages. Microsoft Press published his latest book, “Taming the Information Tsunami.”

Dr. Bruck earned his bachelor's degree from Brown University in human studies, his master's degree from Duquesne University in clinical psychology and his doctorate from the University of Florida in counseling psychology. His accomplishments have been recognized by his listing in Marquis Who's Who in America since 2000.

John Hathaway

John Hathaway is President and CTO of VelocityMG. John has spent the past 14 years innovating at the border of instructional design and technology. He was the instructional architect behind Oracle's Reusable Content Object strategy (Awarded “Most Significant Advance in Research in the Field of Distance Learning”, U.S. Distance Learning Association, 1997) and laid the groundwork for today’s learning object metadata and tracking API standards while representing Oracle on the IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee, IMS, and other standards groups. He was Principal Product Manager for the Oracle iLearning LMS and as CTO of Headlight.com he designed and led development of first e-learning portal site offering individual e-commerce sales. 

Additionally, John led the LMS rollout for GeneEd to provide hosted learning content to bioscience and pharmaceutical companies around the world and at Autodesk expanded the LMS originally used for their US sales force to provide learning for their all their partner globally.

Vikas Joshi

Vikas Joshi founded the Harbinger Group, where he serves as the Chairman and Managing Director. Today the group is known for its innovative software products, and has established a market presence in over thirty countries around the world.

Vikas Joshi's leadership at Harbinger has resulted in groundbreaking product innovations in the e-learning industry. One of his patent-pending inventions led to Raptivity, the world's first rapid interactivity builder, which makes learning interactive, engaging and fun. Other products propelled by his vision include Elicitus, the award-winning e-learning authoring tool, and the Offline Content Player, a scalable platform for offline e-learning. Under his leadership, Harbinger has also emerged as a trusted provider of software services to a wide range of technology companies ranging from Microsoft to several Silicon Valley start-ups.

Vikas is a frequent speaker at industry events, and is recognized as a thought leader in e-learning technology and its role in knowledge management. He has written a book titled Strategic e-Learning Mantras, which distils the best practices in corporate eLearning into a handy guide. He actively advises and speaks at local colleges and other organizations.

After IIT Bombay, where he completed his B.Tech, Vikas got his MS from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY on a Graduate Fellowship, working on artificial intelligence. He lives in Pune, India and hangs out in the Silicon Valley a few months every year. In his spare time, an occasional book provides him diversion from high tech entrepreneurship, unless the book also happens to be on the same subject.

Greg Luckock

Greg Luckock is director of global technology and development strategies for Raytheon Professional Services (RPS), a unit of Raytheon Company. RPS is an award-winning provider of integrated learning solutions that improve the performance of commercial, military and government organizations worldwide. The company delivers more than five million hours of custom training in 27 languages on six continents each year. A nineteen-year career learning professional, Luckock focuses on creating and implementing innovative technology and development strategies that deliver measurable value to RPS's clients.

Formerly, Luckock was a senior leader within Convergys' Learning Solutions practice, where he led the business's entry into the learning outsourcing market and defined its learning outsourcing strategy. Prior to his position with Convergys, Luckock held senior positions within PricewaterhouseCoopers' (PwC) global learning consulting and outsourcing practices where he helped clients apply business, organizational, and financial disciplines to their training function and defined the firm's learning outsourcing technology strategy. Luckock began is career as cofounder and president of Software Academy, one of the largest privately held desktop productivity and network certification companies in the United States.

Luckock is a graduate of Grove City College in Pennsylvania. He and his family reside near Dallas, Texas.

Chris Moore

Chris Moore is the President and Founder of Zeroed-In Technologies, an innovative learning technology company that provides software and services to help visualize, measure, and execute effective learning and performance strategies. Chris is highly regarded as a visionary in learning technologies having pioneered the concept of enterprise learning management and other key innovations throughout the late 1980’s and 90’s.

Prior to founding Zeroed-In, Chris served as Chief Technology Officer for THINQ Learning Solutions, Inc. where he was the visionary and driver behind the TrainingServer® suite of products. During his 15-year tenure at THINQ, Chris transferred his experiences and vision into a framework called The Learning Management Maturity Model (LM3)™. As a first of its kind, THINQ’s LM3 combines organizational process maturity and various technologies to help organizations define and execute on their learning and performance strategy.

Today, Chris’s work continues to bridge the gap between learning strategy and execution. His most recent innovation, CLO Dashboard™ zeroes in on learning and performance metrics by aligning business goals and objectives to key learning indicators (KLI) and supporting measures. His efforts have won him respect as a speaker and author by numerous trade associations and journals including ASTD, CLO Magazine, HR Executive, Training Director’s Forum, and The Conference Board. Chris holds a BS in Business Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. He resides near Baltimore, Maryland with his wife and two sons.

Mohana Radhakrishnan

For over 10 years, Mohana Radhakrishnan, VP of Client Services at Expertus, has worked with learning organizations to generate a higher return on their training investment.

Assignments have included strategic counsel on IT-enabled learning programs, developing key performance metrics to monitor and improve learning initiatives, training strategy, outsourcing logistics, and full-scale technology deployments.

Clients value Mohana's ability to forge deep, trusting relationships and consider her a critical advisor who balances a seasoned, “big picture” perspective with a relentless attention to detail.

Previously, Mohana served as a product manager and business systems developer at a financial analytics software company and at Franklin Templeton.

Mohana holds a Masters degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University.

Brian Taliesin

Brian Taliesin is the Practice Manager for Learning Technologies at Intrepid Learning Solutions, responsible for directing organizations with the implementation of a learning infrastructure that maps to their learning and business strategies. Brian has over 15 years of experience in the areas of integrated systems development, business process analysis, instructional technology and learning standards.

Prior to joining Intrepid, Brian spent six years at Microsoft, leading efforts in the development of learning standards and the movement of their proprietary WBT content to an online, interoperable format. In addition, Brian directed the information technology team responsible for the enterprise-wide consolidation of all learning management systems across the Microsoft enterprise. Brian has also led efforts in developing localization and globalization strategies, methods and process for creating accessible (508 compliant) learning content, collaborative XML authoring environments and blended learning strategies.

Brian has served on and led efforts within the IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee, IMS Learning Design and Reusable Competency working groups, a Learning Object Metadata reference model developed in partnership IBM, Cisco, Thompson NETg and Click2Learn as well as the ISO MPEG 21 efforts on a digital rights expression language. In the “Learning Standards Evangelist” capacity, Brian has presented at industry conferences and events in the United States, Europe and Australia.

Brian's previous work experience focused on the design and development of customer facing systems for the Internet, catalog and retail environments. He is a strong proponent of user-centric systems and applying best practices learned using various methodologies and tools from Object Oriented design, Six-Sigma and other areas to realize business.
