Symantec Receives 2010 CEdMA Innovation Award
San Jose, Calif., November 16, 2010— CEdMA (Computer Education Management Association) announced today at the Fall 2010 CEdMA Conference that Mark Powell of Symantec was recognized as the winner of the CEdMA 2010 Innovation Award. The award recognizes excellence in innovation in training organizations of high-tech companies. Mark is the Senior Manager of Education Production Services at Symantec. Confronted with a collection of nearly ten thousand training courses and content modules in a variety of media, spread out across two Learning Management Systems and a half dozen fragmented and proprietary content repositories, Mark conceived and implemented the Symantec Education Services Course Dashboard, an innovative and dynamic solution that made course information available at the click of a button. Applying a decoupled architecture approach, Mark’s solution achieved rapid adoption at Symantec, as users were delighted to find that data queries that had previously taken days to complete could now be done in minutes. Mark’s achievement was honored at the conference’s networking dinner.
