Baker Communications Chatter-Enables Sales Plays

Baker Communications has announced that beginning August 2 all sales plays leveraging salesforce.com (SFDC) will be enabled with SFDC’s Chatter. Chatter enables enterprise collaboration leveraging social media strategies.

“If we have learned anything from the rapidly expanding impact that social networking has had on our culture, it is that when you give people more effective tools to communicate and collaborate, they will jump at the chance to use them in creative and revolutionary ways,” observed Baker President and CEO Walter Rogers. “Chatter is going to have the same impact on sales teams. It is amazing and powerful technology that is going to dramatically enhance the ability of sales organizations to work together more efficiently to drive revenue.”

Chatter allows sales organizations to leverage the data that is already resident within salesforce.com to create profiles and groups, give and receive status updates across multiple activities, customize information feeds to help monitor current projects and issues that affect your high priority targets, and share and work on documents with team members from a secure, centralized platform. Using Chatter, sales teams can quickly collaborate on opportunities, accounts, contacts and projects. Managers can “follow” those items most important to them proactively and gain insight into opportunities and obstacles and coach appropriately.

“With the addition of Chatter, our Play Operations Coaches will be able to follow the activities of each team member over the life of the sales play,” explained Rogers. “They will be able to observe and evaluate what is going on with each team member as they work on each opportunity and provide coaching to them at any point during the life of the play. At the same time, sales managers will also be learning how to deploy Chatter with their teams. We are really excited about the potential Chatter has to boost the efficiency and impact of our sales play training. Above all, we believe that the addition of Chatter will drive the ROI of these plays to even greater heights.”
