GE Selects Generational Insights to present at 2010 Sales Forums

The General Electric Company has selected Generational Insights and company president Cam Marston to present “Generational Selling” at all of their 2010 US Sales Forums.  Nine events have been slated throughout the year in major US cities.  All GE sales staff are invited to attend to get an update on the company and learn new tools and techniques to become more adept in their sales efforts.

GE, widely recognized as an industry leader in sales training, identified the issue of a demographic shift within their customer base and the need to brief their sales force on the rapport building and buying preferences of new generations of clients.  Marston will discuss biases of the four generations of consumers in today’s market, and give tips and insights on how to best relate, convey information, and provide service to each of these generations in his one hour presentation.

Generational Insights was previously selected for GE’s annual sales forums in 2005, and will be presenting updated information that reflects one of the more significant changes in the buyers today – the role Generation X (30 to 45 years old) is now playing in the decision making process.  In 2005 Generation X’ers were largely the screeners for the buyers.  Today the Generation X’ers are finding success as buyers and CFOs, and require a different relationship and selling approach than did the Baby Boomers who were previously in these roles.

Says Marston: “It’s an honor to work with GE. They’re a top notch organization and to be asked again to present to their US Sales Force is very special.  I look forward to sharing new information and supplying the salespeople with current tools to better serve their clients.  To see the heads in the audience nodding in agreement as I begin to describe these new buying characteristics  lets me know they’re relating and I’m helping them with their sales skills.”

Generational Insights is a US based company that began as a research company, and today provides insight and solutions for the demographic and generational trends impacting businesses and workplaces worldwide.   With expertise in hiring, managing, motivating, recruiting, retaining, and selling to Baby Boomers, Generation X, the Millennials (aka Generation Y), and the Mature (aka The Silent Generation), they train sales leaders worldwide on how to relate to and sell to different generations.
