New Sales eBook Explores Managing Gen Y Employees
ARLINGTON, Va. – June 18, 2012—Vorsight recently released an eBook, Mythbusting Millennials, to explore the biases and opinions said about working with Generation Y (millennials) employees. In conjunction with The Bridge Group, Inc., the eBook takes a “mythbusting” approach to separate fact from fiction when working with Gen Y sales reps.
“We can definitely testify to the benefits of employing Gen Y sales reps considering Vorsight’s history. But what we were missing was the ‘why’ working with Gen Y is so different from working with Generation X or Boomer employees,” said Steve Richard, co-founder and chief content officer of Vorsight.
Nearly one thousand sales reps were asked about their current roles, motivations and future plans in the workplace. From there, Vorsight and The Bridge Group, Inc. pulled the Gen Y responses and compared them to the responses of Gen X and Boomer sales reps.
Here are three of the seven preconceptions we tested:
- Gen Y is not motivated, chiefly, by money.
- They “work to live, not live to work.”
- Gen Y reps constantly crave feedback and guidance.
