During a kaizen event, we repeatedly stress, "Creativity before
capital." This means we should find ways to eliminate waste, solve problems, and make
improvements without using money. To do this requires us to be clever, inventive,
resourceful, and creative. But what exactly is creativity? Being creative means bringing
something new into existence using imaginative skills. What is created could be a solution,
a method, or an idea that you could work on in your personal or professional life. By Joe
