GP Awarded CBRNE Equipment Training Contract
Elkridge, MD. November 21, 2011 – Global performance improvement solutions
provider General Physics Corporation (GP), the operating subsidiary of GP Strategies
Corporation (NYSE: GPX), announced today that its Homeland Security, Defense and
Emergency Management team was awarded a contract by the U.S. Army’s Pine Bluff
Arsenal to provide Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives
(CBRNE) detection, protection and decontamination equipment sustainment training
and technical assistance for firefighting, medical and law enforcement personnel located on U.S. Army military installations worldwide. The contract award is for a base year and two option years.
This contract was awarded to GP through a competitive selection process. GP has
provided similar training since 1999 under the Domestic Preparedness Equipment
Training Assistance Program (DPETAP) to state and local first responders . GP will
support the U.S. Army’s Tank- Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Life
Cycle Management Command (LCMC) Consequence Management team and the Pine
Bluff Arsenal, a Department of Defense center of expertise for chemical and biological
defensive equipment production and support. TACOM helps emergency responders
operate and maintain their CBRNE detection and response equipment. Under this
contract, GP can provide more than 30 courses that range from one to four hours in
length.
