Seattle, December 1, 2011 – Intrepid Learning (http://www.intrepidls.com/), an award-winning provider of corporate learning services and learning technology designed to accelerate productivity and growth for businesses worldwide, today announced that Vikesh Mahendroo will step down from his post as CEO of the company. Intrepid Co-Founder and President Sam Herring will assume leadership of the company as CEO. This leadership change will become effective on January 1, 2012.
Mahendroo, who joined Intrepid in 2007 after a distinguished 23-year career with Mercer Human Resources Consulting, will return to the East Coast, where he will be able to spend more time with his family, and take on the challenge of leading another company. He will retain his seat on Intrepid’s Board of Directors and remain as an advisor to the company.
During his tenure at Intrepid, Mahendroo helped the company establish a position of strength during a period of major economic disruption. Today, Intrepid enjoys solid profitability and robust growth, boasts industry-leading client relationships, and is innovating leading-edge technology-enabled learning solutions.
Incoming CEO Herring is a seasoned learning industry leader. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors for the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), a frequent speaker at learning industry events, and a contributor to top business publications. Since co-founding Intrepid in 1999, he has led many areas of the business, including: professional services, client management, product management, marketing, and sales. Herring will join the Intrepid Board of Directors.
“We’re tremendously grateful to Vikesh for his strong leadership and stewardship of Intrepid over the past four years,” says Jack Creighton, Chairman of Intrepid’s Board of Directors. “Vikesh led Intrepid through challenging economic times, and the company is profitable and growing at an impressive pace. Looking ahead, we totally support Sam, who has close working relationships with our clients, top industry leaders, and Intrepid team members. We’re extremely confident that he’ll help take the organization to new levels of success in the coming years.”
Adds Mahendroo: “The decision to leave my operating role with Intrepid was not easy. However, with the company vibrant and healthy, the time is right for the next chapter of leadership at Intrepid. Sam has been a big part of our success at Intrepid, and is the right person to lead the company to the next level. He is an industry leader with deep credibility, a strong command of our business, and knows our clients and their business challenges. Partnering with a strong leadership team, I know our clients, employees and shareholders are in good hands with Sam at the helm. I’m pleased to continue contributing to Intrepid as a Board member and advisor to the team.”
For his part, Herring says: “I really appreciate Vikesh’s strong leadership over the past four years. He has helped us build a strong foundation for the future.”
“Today, continues Herring, “we see organizations struggling with major challenges related to the velocity and complexity of change they encounter every day. Our most successful client relationships are really about helping clients successfully navigate this kind of complex change with the help of innovative learning solutions. Our learning services and cutting-edge technologies always start with our clients’ business challenges – for example, attracting or building stronger customer relationships, achieving compliance in complicated regulated environments, or maximizing value from a recent merger or acquisition.”
“This is an exciting time to be in our profession,” concludes Herring. “There are so many opportunities to have an impact. At Intrepid, we will continue to help our clients seize opportunities to improve performance, spark innovation and drive growth.”
