Ask The Expert
Don Duquette is Senior Vice President of GP's Learning Solutions Group. In this position he is responsible for the company's global training outsourcing practice. Mr. Duquette has over 25 years of workforce learning experience. His international consulting experience includes the full spectrum of learning such as blended learning, learning strategies, and corporate training governance. Prior to the merger of GP e-Learning Technologies Inc. with GP he was the Chief Operating Officer of GP e-Learning Technologies Inc. where he guided GP e-Learning's operational strategy, responsible for the day-to-day activities of the organization's 125 professionals that developed and implemented e-learning solutions for Global 2000 corporations. He holds a BS degree (Mechanical Engineering) from Johns Hopkins University and an Executive MBA from Loyola. As a recognized authority on learning and corporate training strategies, Mr. Duquette is a frequent presenter at industry conferences, a three time Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning judge and was named as one of the industries most influential training professionals in 2007.
Paul Jefferson is CEO of KnowledgePool, having been with the company for over five years. His previous experience includes over ten years in management consulting, with seven years at the global consulting firm A.T. Kearney, where he was a member of their global operations practice. He has significant international experience having worked in Hungary, Germany, Switzerland and North America. In particular he brings strong vendor management experience to KnowledgePool, building on many years of strategic sourcing and supply chain management consulting.
Paul has an MBA from INSEAD, France, and an MA (Engineering) from the University of Cambridge.
As Chief Executive Officer, Paul Krause is responsible for spearheading the rapid growth and development of Element K in every area of its business. He oversees the Online Learning Products business, the Learning Services business, and the Print Courseware business, as well as all financial and administrative functions.
Most recently, Krause was President at Element K and held numerous positions there since joining the company, then Ziff Davis Education, in 1996 as Director of Business Management and Operations. In 1998, he was promoted to Business Manager for the Courseware Publishing Division, and later that year assumed responsibility for Interactive Product Development. Krause later served as Vice President of Financial Planning and EVP of Development and Operations. Prior to joining ZD Education, he held various financial, information technology and operational positions. Krause received his BS in Business Management and Marketing from Cornell University and an MBA from Simon Graduate School of Business Administration (University of Rochester).
David J. Letts is vice president and general manager of Raytheon Professional Services LLC (RPS), a unit of Raytheon Company. RPS is an award-winning provider of integrated learning solutions that improve the performance of commercial, military and government organizations worldwide. The company delivers more than five million hours of custom training in 22 languages on six continents each year.
A 25-year veteran of the HR and learning fields, Letts has led RPS since 2001. He also manages the operations of Raytheon Learning Institutes (RLI), a corporate university focused on the development of Raytheon's 78,000 employees and its extended enterprise. In 2003, Letts earned the Raytheon Chairman's Award, which recognizes leaders who demonstrate Raytheon's values and deliver exceptional results that contribute to customer satisfaction.
Letts' expertise in strategic planning, customer focus and operational excellence has been instrumental in making RPS a top-tier learning outsourcing provider. Under his leadership, RPS has experienced double-digit growth and earned a number of awards for customer programs, including the ASTD Excellence in Practice Citation, the International German Training Award and the Crystal Communicators Award of Excellence. Dave is a frequent panelist and speaker at industry conferences and a qualified Raytheon Six Sigma™ Specialist.
Letts earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Villanova University and a master's degree in industrial psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He and his family reside in Dallas, Texas.
Vic Melfa is the CEO and founder of THE TRAINING ASSOCIATES, a unique trainer outsourcing firm. Since 1994 it has been recognized as the largest and leading provider of contract and full-time trainer consultants. It is relied upon by many training outsourcing organizations for a broad range of trainer staffing and trainer consulting services. It is a BPO specializing in the RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing) of trainers, performing the recruitment, development, management, and deployment of trainers for all kinds of companies worldwide.
Vic was active in the growth of the computer training industry from its beginning! He was the founder & CEO of one of the first and most successful training companies in America. With eight Authorized Education Centers, Vitronix was the largest Northeast computer training company which he sold to a multibillion-dollar IT Service Company. It had the first and largest Microsoft, Sun and Novell Education Centers in New England and the first Authorized Oracle Training Center in the country.
Previously, Vic was a management consultant for emerging technical companies and founded several including: Victor Associates, the largest computer manufacturers' representative in New England; and Victor Electronics, the first New England regional computer distributor. He began his career managing the development of many of the original technologies at the early computer labs and companies.
Vic has a B.S. and M.A. in Physics from the College of the Holy Cross and Columbia University, respectively, all of his Doctoral credits from the latter, and an MBA from Northeastern University. He has been an adjunct professor at Boston University and Boston College, where he developed and taught technical and management courses. He was awarded technical appointments at the Los Alamos and Naval Research Laboratories.
Vic has been a New England Entrepreneur of the Year finalist three times, was CEO of an "INC. 500" Fastest Growing Company two times, and was an original founder of both CompTIA and the Information Technology Training Association (ITTA) which is now CompTIA's Technology Learning Group. He has authored many industry articles, been a featured conference speaker and presenter of widely acclaimed white papers, including the groundbreaking: Staff & Contract Trainers - Costs, Comparisons & Considerations for Strategic Decision Making.
A member of Intrepid's founding team, Herring leads the company's sales and marketing operations to drive the development of innovative learning and performance solutions that solve client business challenges. The principal architect of Intrepid's consulting practice, Herring developed the business by attracting key clients such as Autodesk, Cisco Systems, Honeywell, Wells Fargo Bank, Washington Mutual Bank, Federated Department Stores, S.C. Johnson, and the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).
Herring is a frequent speaker at leading industry conferences and seminars, including those hosted by ASTD, The Conference Board and The Masie Center. He is currently a member of the ASTD Board of Directors Selection Committee, and is a past advisory committee member of ASTD and TechLearn conferences. In addition, Herring has been recognized as a “Who's Who” training industry thought leader by TrainingOutsourcing.com. He regularly speaks on topics ranging from designing effective corporate learning and learning technology strategies, to best practices in vendor selection, vendor management and outsourcing.
Herring holds a Master's degree from Harvard University, where he studied ethics and workforce development, and a Bachelor's degree from Yale University.
Chris Moore is the President and Founder of Zeroed-In Technologies, an innovative learning technology company that provides software and services to help visualize, measure, and execute effective learning and performance strategies. Chris is highly regarded as a visionary in learning technologies having pioneered the concept of enterprise learning management and other key innovations throughout the late 1980’s and 90’s.
Prior to founding Zeroed-In, Chris served as Chief Technology Officer for THINQ Learning Solutions, Inc. where he was the visionary and driver behind the TrainingServer® suite of products. During his 15-year tenure at THINQ, Chris transferred his experiences and vision into a framework called The Learning Management Maturity Model (LM3)™. As a first of its kind, THINQ’s LM3 combines organizational process maturity and various technologies to help organizations define and execute on their learning and performance strategy.
Today, Chris’s work continues to bridge the gap between learning strategy and execution. His most recent innovation, CLO Dashboard™ zeroes in on learning and performance metrics by aligning business goals and objectives to key learning indicators (KLI) and supporting measures. His efforts have won him respect as a speaker and author by numerous trade associations and journals including ASTD, CLO Magazine, HR Executive, Training Director's Forum, and The Conference Board. Chris holds a BS in Business Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. He resides near Baltimore, Maryland with his wife and two sons.
Adam Stedham is Vice President of Training Business Process Outsourcing with General Physics Corporation. Mr. Stedham has led global outsourcings relationships with major corporations across multiple market sectors. His expertise is in driving operational efficiency into the training function and aligning the training function to corporate business objectives.
In addition to his training outsourcing experience over the last 12 years, he has led the training efforts for multiple large multinational capital projects. He holds Six Sigma Black Belt Villanova University, an MBA from Anderson University and a Masters of Adult Education from Ball State University.

Kaliym Islam is Vice President of Learning for the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt, and the author of Developing and Measuring Training The 6 Sigma Way, a resource that translates the popular Six Sigma methodologies, tools, and techniques in a way that is customized specifically for the design, implementation, and measurement of employee development programs. Mr. Islam is a contributing author to the German E-Learning Handbook, the French publication Puissance Six Sigma and is a featured contributing writer to LTI NewsLine. His written work has been featured on the covers of industry publications such as Chief Learning Officer Magazine and e-Learning Magazine. Mr. Islam is a pioneer in the application of Six Sigma to training programs and has been a keynote presenter on the subject at The Australian IQPC's Curriculum and Development Conference, The Conference Board of Canada's Learning and Development Conference, TechLearn, and Corporate University Week.
A former educator in the NYC Public School System, Mr. Islam has been the recipient of the Gift of Time Award, as well as the Horace E. Green Award. Mr. Islam has also been cited by the City Council of New York for his innovative work as an educator, and by the Jackie Robinson Center for Physical Culture for his educational leadership. He resides in Plainfield, New Jersey.
