Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any pre-requisite experience or educational requirements?

No. The CPTM program is ideal for anyone looking to further their career through developing strategic practices focused on the business of learning. Preferred candidates hold a bachelor’s degree or a minimum of two years’ experience in a professional training role.  

When will I receive access to the online courses?

Within two business days of registering for the program.

How long will it take to complete the online courses?

Approximately two to four hours per module, or 20-40 hours. We recommend allowing four weeks to complete the modules prior to attending the practicum.

Do I have to do any homework while doing the online courses?

Yes. You will be given the opportunity to complete on-the-job aids to help you apply concepts in your current work environment.

Are there tests associated with the online courses?

Yes. There is an assessment at the end of each module that you will be expected to pass.

What practicum will I be scheduled in?

When you register, you are given a choice of practicum dates and locations. Click here for a list of upcoming practicum locations and dates.

When can I take the exam?

You will be issued a link to the exam on the last day of the practicum for which you register.

Will I be required to take ongoing training to stay certified?

Yes. You will be expected to complete 24 hours of ongoing training within a two-year period. Exclusive opportunities for continuing education are available through our alumni network at no additional costs.

What type of training qualifies for re-certification?

Industry conferences, webinars, and other industry-relevant training or events. Training Industry facilitates CPTM recertification learning through regularly scheduled CPTM webinars and other special events.
