Rochester, NY — November 2, 2011 — Volvo Cars of North America in collaboration with Ardent Learning won the prestigious National Excellence in Training Award presented during Industry Week in Las Vegas, NV by the Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) in recognition of outstanding and innovative training programs designed for the automotive and truck industry.
Ardent Learning developed the training program Precision Measurement to provide Volvo technicians with courses on engine precision measurement. The delivery method was a series of three, 10- to 15-screen web-based training courses, each with video podcasts. The results of the program were reduced engine repair claims from Volvo retailers caused by incorrectly performed precision measurement and improvement in engine repair versus engine replacement.
The training program, while only in its first release, has received extremely positive remarks. “Providing 2,100 technicians with web-based refresher training will save significant money over the next several years.,” stated Ed Spirko, Manager, Service Training & Development at Volvo. He further stated that “The team from Ardent Learning also brought many years of experience to the project in the way of instructional design, project management, video and audio services."
